Manual logsheets get you heat-wise records fast. Connecting SmeltSync to the PLCs and SCADA system already running your furnace, AOD and CCM removes the typing step entirely for the readings your automation already has — temperature, power, blow time, casting speed — and ties them to the same heat number.
A melter can log a tap temperature by hand accurately, but they can't log a continuous power curve, a casting-speed trend, or a temperature reading every few seconds. That data already exists in your PLC and SCADA historian — it's just sitting in a separate system that doesn't know a heat number from a hole in the ground. Integration means that data joins the same record as the manual log, instead of living in a second silo next to the first one paper created.
SmeltSync reads tag data from your SCADA/historian layer through a gateway process, matches timestamps against the heat currently open on that furnace or strand, and writes the readings into that heat's record. Manual entries and automated tag-reads sit in the same table — an admin can see which fields came from a person and which came from a PLC.
